Thirsty Thursday: Songs of the week ~Oct. 27

Music is one of the best forms of communication and sharing ideas. I’m going to start posting a post on most Thursdays of 2 songs; one lyrical, and one instrumental. These songs may be a blast from the recent past or something current that I believe is interesting. Music is not classified by  the race of people that make it, so anybody should feel comfortable listening to whatever genre they like, whether its made by someone of a different race or not. Enjoy

Instrumental
Dizzy Gillespie said it the best: “I don’t care much about music. What I like is sounds.”

Moonlit Sailor- Waiting For Nothing
I became a fan of this band through an Animals As Leaders playlist on Pandora. I like the progression of this song and the guitar talent is pretty awesome for a band that isn’t so common. Some of the best music artists are hard to find, but I prefer it be that way, so listeners can get to them before the money does.

Lyrical

“Music speaks what cannot be expressed, soothes the mind and gives it rest, heals the heart and makes it whole, flows from heaven to the soul.”

Chumbawamba-  Tubthumping (I get knocked down)
An “older” song but it is easily recognizable by my generation. I associate this song closely with the “American Pie” movie series because it reminds me of them so well. Obviously I chose this song for the lyrical song of the week because of it’s main chorus line:

(We’ll be singing, when we’re winning, we’ll be singing)

I get knocked down, but I get up again
You’re never gonna keep me down
